General

These are the terms and conditions that apply when you purchase goods from our website. Read these terms together with terms and conditions that apply to any other interaction with Iron Oak. 

  • Please contact our team or your sales consultant if there are any changes in the information you have given us (e.g. your contact information).

  • We may monitor and record all phone calls and other interactions with you for reference.

Accepting our terms

When you buy goods from us, you agree to and accept all our terms and conditions. You also agree that Iron Oak may send invoices and other communications regarding your sales order/s to you electronically.

Shopping at Iron Oak

Your personal profile and information

  • When you shop Iron Oak goods, you give us your consent to collect and process your personal information, which we use to (for example) create and manage your account, process your payment, fulfil your order, communicate with you and deliver your goods.

  • If you do not want us to collect and process your personal information, we will not be able to provide you with goods or services.

  • When you purchase from Iron Oak,  we create a customer profile for you.

  • You will be asked to create a profile which includes selecting a username and password which will be requested every time that you shop online with us.

  • It is your responsibility to keep your credentials private and secure and not share them with anyone. Only authorised users may access their online profile with their credentials.

  • We accept no liability for any damages or losses that you may suffer from the unauthorised use of your profile.

  • Any time you engage with Iron Oak, we will be able to review the details on your sales order to assist you, using your cell number or address or customer account number or sales order number to open your profile.

  • Please refer to our Privacy Statement for more information on how we process, share and protect your personal information and your rights regarding your personal information.

Our products

  • We will do our best to accurately display the goods, specifically regarding their colour, description, and price on our website.

  • We will try and answer as many questions as possible regarding anything product related on our FAQ section on the website. If anything else is unclear, please feel free to contact us during business hours on either our chat line or via email: ct@ironoak.co.za

  • For any custom work kindly send us a message from the custom page on our website and our consultants can either help via email or can arrange a meeting to discuss the work in person. 

  • When shopping online, please remember the way you see the goods is dependent on the device you use to access our website. Iron Oak cannot be held responsible for any mistakes in ordering items whose actual colour is different from that appearing on the website as viewed on your device. For this reason, it is strongly recommended that you arrange with a sales consultant to provide you with colour samples in person.

  • We urge you to understand your custom product choice. As per the Consumer Protection Act, we are not required to accept cancellations of any customised product.

  • All other manufactured items will be liable for a 10% cancellation fee after the cooling off period of ten days.

  • We constantly try improvement methodology where designs are updated and improved, when necessary, to improve small details in the aesthetics or to improve performance or avoid issues. This means that our specifications may change without notice and that whilst our products remain essentially identical to the sample on our website, there may be reasonable changes and updates made over time that means it is not identical.

  • All our goods are locally manufactured and made to order, we do not keep stock of any items. Please allow 8-10 weeks for manufacturing on standard items and up to 12 weeks on custom built goods.

  • We may experience delays out of our control, resulting in a delay for you. We will notify you when this occurs and discuss a reasonable extended waiting time.

  • Every steel and solid wood product is unique and might have markings, small cracks and live edges (eg where the table does not have a straight edge, but rather one that follows the wood characteristics) which form part of the characteristics of the product. These natural characteristics will not be regarded as defects.


Payment terms

  • Our prices are quoted according to the country in which we trade:

  • Our website is not currently available for purchase from outside South Africa, or for delivery to countries outside South Africa.

  • Prices are subject to change at any time and without prior notification.

  • We require 50% payment for all standard orders, the remaining 50% is payable before collection or delivery.

  • On all custom orders we require a 70% deposit, the remaining 30% is payable before collection or delivery.

  • Adding goods to a sales order,  without completing the payment does not constitute a valid order, so we may remove the goods from your account if stock is no longer available and/ or change the price of the goods without notice to you. You cannot hold us liable if the goods are no longer available, or the price has changed if you complete the purchase process at a later stage.

  • Ownership of the goods will rest with Iron Oak until payment has been received in full, after which we will release the goods for delivery or collection (including releasing goods to outside transporters).

  • Should we not be able to confirm delivery/ collection date within 30 days of the product completion, we will charge you storage fees of 10% of the sales order value per month or pro rata.

  • All delivery and installation costs are NOT INCLUDED in the sales price and will be quoted separately.

  • Iron Oak offers a variety of payment methods available on our website. We accept the following payment methods: Electronic funds transfer (EFT), Debit or Credit card online and in store as well as through PAYFLEX with 4 installments paid over 4 months. Please ask your sales consultant for more information as soon as you are ready to make your purchase.

Collection, Delivery and installation

  • PLEASE NOTE: We only do installations in Western Cape at the moment, however arrangements can be made with our installation teams at a higher cost to the client should the installation be outside of the Western Cape.

  • You may choose to receive your purchased goods in the following ways: Collection from our workshop (NO EXTRA CHARGE), Delivery via courier arranged only by the client and at clients own costs. (We do not use third party couriers. Delivery and installation by Iron Oak. (This will be charged extra and is not included in the sales price of the goods.

  • Delivery to destination e.g., Home, office. We will charge a delivery and installation fee for every delivery you request, which will be quoted and billed at the time of purchase, depending on your product choice and delivery address.

  • Our Support Team will confirm the delivery or collection date directly with you. The sales consultant is unable to confirm delivery as our logistics team plans the routes according to the deliveries to be made.

  • We deliver Monday to Saturday (excluding public holidays). Our ability to deliver is also always subject to certain factors, including the supply of accurate delivery address details.

  • You must ensure that we can access the place of delivery, and that the location is cleared for the goods to be delivered and installed. Our installation team works on a planned schedule and cannot be responsible for clearing out old furniture to make place for the new goods.

Accepting your delivery

  • Our delivery crew’s responsibility is to deliver your goods to you. All information regarding product quality or any other product-related questions should be directed to your sales consultant.

  • We will attach guarantees and care instructions (if applicable) to your order confirmation email.

  • On delivery we will require that you or your authorised representative sign for the goods to confirm receipt of goods.

  • If you are unable to accept the goods yourself, please ensure that you or your authorised representative are available at the delivery address. If anyone else accepts delivery of the goods at the delivery address, they are presumed to be authorised to accept the goods on your behalf.

  • If no one is at the delivery address to accept delivery, we will contact you to arrange an alternative time. You will be charged additional delivery charges if we cannot deliver the goods to you due to access problems or if you are not available when we deliver the goods or you did not confirm the correct truck for your complex.

Inspecting the goods

  • You must inspect the goods when they are delivered to you.

  • If you are satisfied that the goods are in good condition and not damaged, you or your representative must sign the invoice, which will be proof that the goods have been delivered in a good, undamaged condition.

  • If the goods are damaged in any way, you must: Note the reason for rejecting the goods and the nature of the damage on the invoice - this will be communicated to us when the truck returns to the workshop, so please expect a call from our Support Team to discuss the way forward.

  • We recommend you take pictures and videos and email them to ct@ironoak.co.za with your sales order number. Include a copy of the notes you made on the invoice.

  • DO NOT accept delivery if you are not satisfied with the state of the goods.

  • If you do not note the reason for rejecting the goods and the nature of the damage on the invoice and you keep the goods, we are entitled to regard the goods as if they were in good condition and not damaged when delivered to you.

Courier

  • We do not make use of third party delivery services.

  • If collection by a third party courier is required, the client will be responsible to make all arrangements with said company. 

  • Third party couriers are welcome to contact our sales team to arrange with the workshop for collection by the company.

  • Arrangements for collection by third party couriers can only be made once we have sent out a mail indicating that your order is ready for pick up.

  • Iron Oak will not take any responsibility for any damages related to or incurred by the third party company.

  • The third party courier will be responsible for the goods once it has left the Iron Oak workshop.

  • Images will be taken by Iron Oak staff of the state of the goods before it is loaded onto the third party courier trucks and sent to you for assurance and reference purposes.

Collection from our workshop

  • We will contact you 2 working days before collection date to confirm a time.

  • Please confirm with our sales team if you would like the goods assembled or not assembled before collection from our workshop so arrangements can be made.

  • The person who collects the goods must have the original order confirmation, the original proof of purchase such as the invoice and produce a form of identification.

  • You or your representative must inspect the goods when they are collected and sign a collection slip, which will be proof that the goods were collected in good, undamaged condition.

  • If the goods are damaged in any way, you must notify us immediately and not take the goods with you.

  • You accept full responsibility for the goods once they leave our workshop and we will not be held liable for any loss or damage to the goods, whether you, your representative or a third-party transporter collected the goods. For this reason, customers are encouraged to inspect products prior to leaving our premises.
